    Description

Antique Bronze & Glass Passenger Ship Porthole
    Perfect Size For A Door!
    O
ffered is a great example of a ship's porthole in bronze and thick glass.  The hinged porthole opens and bolts closed as it should. The exterior side has a fancy wave guard design which helps protect the glass from the perils of the sea. This clue suggests the porthole came from a passenger ship of some type and most likely c.1900.  The glass is 5 1/4" across within the bronze frame. Overall this is 12" x 9"and weighs in at 11 lbs. There is a very small chip on the edge of the glass and the original gasket between the 2 halves is mostly missing - NBD.
If you are looking for a porthole to put in a door, this one would be perfect and easy to install.
