Description
1890 was American Bank Note Company's (ABN Co.) last printing of postage stamps. Until the flag overun series of the 40s, all stamps after this series were printed by the Bureau of printing and engraving.Scarce E.F.O. Pair 2 Perforation Connected Horizontally US #219v 1890 One Cent Benjamin Franklin Dull Blue ultramarine Stamps with EFO no triangles in corner light cancellation across pair. Error ODDITY Flames discolored on right 1's background inside of shield discoloration so the stamps are each different, both erroneous unique exactly as scanned & pictured XF. When ABN Co. washed these some ink came off because of the plate imperfection. SENILE FACE Stamps hinged cancelled no gum Rare pair from perforated stamp sheet and all 4 corners are perforated. stamps. As you can see, the stamps have less Ink than they should. The white area is created by a raised portion of the plate in this area, due to poor workmanship on the plate. Rarely when the ink is wiped from the plate this area is wiped of ink, thus causing the absence of ink above the foot of the number one but if you look at the picture you can see that there is under inking throughout the whole entire pair of stamps.
