Description

Vintage ship brass porthole with storm door over 6" glass, base 10 5/8", 4 dogs. The outer storm door is 7 1/4" to cover the inner glass porthole whose frame is 8 1/4" sitting on top of the base that has 6 bolt holes (5/8" diameter) and all is solid brass. There are 4 dogs to hold the porthole and storm cover, 2 for each.  Do not know if the nuts for the dogs are what was originally with it but they are the ones I got.  The dog bolts are 1/2" thread and the nuts are 1 3/4" diameter.  As you can see in the photos there a lot of nicks and dings all over the outer brass, not sure what made that much, perhaps being battered in the ocean for many years before being rescued and coming my way.  I am not sure of the exact date or ship this came from but the previous owner was a commercial diver and had a lot of maritime articles of which this was one.  The porthole assembly weighs close to 25 pounds and comes in a Priority shipping box, shipping is included in the price.
